VANCOUVER – The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) confirms the human remains found in Langley on Nov. 25 are those of a 34-year-old man from Edmonton.

David Thanh Lam was known to police and has a criminal record dating back to 1998. IHIT believes this was a targeted homicide.

“The cause of death will remain holdback evidence and while the motive has not been confirmed, investigators believe it to be linked to criminal activity,” says Staff Sergeant Jennifer Pound.

Lam’s body was badly burned and IHIT was waiting on an autopsy to obtain details about the victim.
