More than 1,700 Thais dressed in elf costumes gathered outside a Bangkok mall on Tuesday, and managed to break the world record for the largest gathering of Santa’s elves.

The official tally came in at 1,762 elves, beating the previous record, which was set in the UK last year, by more than 600 people.
Participants had to wear red and green colored clothing and a pointed hat and ears in order to join the record challenge.
The final total would have been higher but several participants were eliminated for not wearing their pointed ears.
The crowd was mostly made up of young people and mall employees.
