‘Saturday Night Live’ mocks Obama’s executive action on immigration

ABOVE: Watch the Saturday Night Live parody of a classic Schoolhouse Rock segment as an Obama impersonator decisively pushes an immigration bill down the Capitol steps.

The latest episode of Saturday Night Live opened with some lessons on U.S. president Barack Obama’s executive action on immigration.

In a Schoolhouse Rock segment, a dancing immigration bill sings about the difficult path to becoming a law — until Obama shows up and pushes the bill down the steps of the Capitol.

As it turns out, there’s an easier way to get things done in Washington, and it’s called an executive order.

The cigarette-smoking executive order’s song is more to-the-point: “I’m an executive order and I pretty much just happen.”
