Suspects on the loose after string of robberies

File / Global News

REGINA – A string of robberies that took place over the span of five hours Friday night are all believed to be connected.

Four men and one woman are suspected to have robbed three businesses at knife point and attempted to steal a vehicle.

The first happened at 9:38pm, according to Regina police. Officers said the suspects entered a business in the 200 block of Victoria Avenue and made off with cash.

Shortly before midnight, two suspects attempted to steal an unattended vehicle. The owner tried to get the suspect out of his vehicle, which was driven into a fence. Then the suspect pulled a knife on the owner before fleeing in a blue Subaru.

Six minutes later, the four men and one woman believed to be the same suspects from the first incident attempted to rob a business in the Golden Mile Shopping Centre.

Finally, police said the same suspects held up another business in the 1800 block of 9th Ave. north and made off with cash and merchandise just before 3 am. The K9 and street unit tried to stop the Subaru as it left the scene, heading down Highway 1. Moose Jaw police were also unable to stop the vehicle. RCMP were then notified, but the suspects are still at large.

There were no injuries as a result of the incidents.

Anyone with information on these crimes is asked to contact authorities.
