Alcohol linked to Surrey car crash that sends two to hospital

Alcohol is being linked to a crash in Surrey that sent two people to hospital this morning.

At approximately 7:15 a.m., a 2002 Honda van crashed into a bus stop near 96th Ave. and 140th St.

Surrey RCMP say that alcohol “appears to have been a contributing factor in the collision.” Open liquor was found in the vehicle and police could also be seen collecting bottles of alcohol as evidence.

The two passengers were sent to hospital with non-life threatening injuries while the driver was treated on scene by B.C. Ambulance Services. Police say that the passengers may not have been wearing seat belts.
