CALGARY – Police have laid charges in connection to the death of a 25-year-old man who went missing earlier this year.
Suryan Giama, 25, was last seen at a home in Woodbine on February 17th. His vehicle was found in southwest Calgary a month later, but there was no sign of Giama.
The young man’s remains were recovered on the Stoney Nakoda First Nation in June.
On Friday, police arrested 35-year-old Kevin Douglas Dalton in connection to the death.
He is charged with manslaughter and committing an indignity to a human body.
A cause of death has not yet been determined, but police believe Giama died as a result of an altercation.
They say Giama and the victim were known to each other, but aren’t releasing the nature of their relationship.
Investigators are not looking for any further suspects in Giama’s death.
