TORONTO – Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for parts of southern Ontario due to a likelihood of freezing rain beginning early Saturday morning.
The weather service says the “weak disturbance” will move into the Windsor area initially and then move east to the Kitchener-Waterloo region.
Some areas will see a short duration or freezing rain while others could see up to several hours worth as the temperature hovers around the freezing mark.
Initial reports show the total amount of precipitation to be less than five millimeters.
The regions under the advisory are as follows:
- City of Hamilton
- Dufferin – Innisfil
- Dunnville – Caledonia – Haldimand
- Elgin
- Grey – Bruce
- Halton – Peel
- Huron – Perth
- London – Middlesex
- Oxford – Brant
- Sarnia – Lambton
- Simcoe – Delhi – Norfolk
- Waterloo – Wellington
- Windsor – Essex – Chatham-Kent
