WATCH: Moments after being struck in the head, people rushed to the aid of an unconscious truck driver.
CHIFENG, CHINA – Local residents pooled efforts to rescue an unconscious truck driver from an accident recently in Chifeng, north China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
The driver was knocked unconscious by a giant steel plate on his truck when he was slamming the brakes on his way to deliver the goods.
Inertia carried one of the steel plates forward and smashed into the driver in the cabin.
Local residents rushed to pull the driver out from beneath the steel plate.
The driver was found in a coma with weak breath.
A middle-aged woman started to perform CPR on the driver.
The driver resumed normal heartbeat and breathing after a couple of minutes of emergency treatment by the woman and others.
The driver was then rushed to a nearby hospital. He is currently in a stable condition, a doctor of the hospital said.
