CALGARY – A Calgary man’s pet pooch showed some impressive skills on Late Show with David Letterman on Tuesday.

Chris Jansen and his Labrador-border collie cross named Lexi were featured in the segment Stupid Pet Tricks, during which Lexi climbed a ladder and jumped into Jansen’s arms.

Jansen says the opportunity to appear on the show came after he and his wife posted a video to YouTube showing some of their canine’s captivating stunts.

“She thought, let’s film some of these tricks,” explains Jansen. “We put them out there for our friends to see. We got comments, and then the phone started ringing.”

Lexi was even featured on Global News last year, in a story by reporter Gil Tucker.

What’s next for the famous dog?

“She’s just going to wake up and eat some food and go back to sleep,” joked Jansen during an interview on Global Calgary. “She’s just going to go through her regular dog routine.”

Lexi is a rescue dog, adopted by Chris in 2009.

“We’re just going to going to go back to work in Calgary and walk our dog and enjoy life together.”
