WATCH: A Vancouver Police officer is under investigation for suspected impaired driving. John Daly has the story.
Vancouver Police confirm one of their officers is being investigated by the Office of the Police Complaints Commissioner under suspicion of impaired driving.
Delta Police say that on November 6, 2014, their officers conducted a traffic stop after receiving a complaint from a member of the public.
The driver failed the roadside screening test and was issued a 90 day immediate roadside suspension. The driver’s vehicle was also impounded for 30 days.
“During the course of the investigation, the Delta Police were made aware that the driver was a police officer with the Vancouver Police Department. Delta Police immediately notified the Vancouver Police Department who in turn immediately notified the Office of the Police Complaint Commissioner,” reads a statement issued by Sgt. Sarah Swallow of the Delta Police.
“At Vancouver Police Department’s request, the Delta Police Department will be conducting the separate investigation under the Police Act.”
Vancouver Police say they won’t be commenting further at this time as the matter is being investigated by another agency.
