Police launch website for recovered property from Project Yellowbird

WATCH: Toronto police are trying to reunite thousands of stolen goods – recovered from an investigation dubbed “Project Yellowbird” with their owners.

TORONTO – Toronto police have set up a website to help victims reunite with thousands of stolen property taken during a string of break-and-enters from December 2013 to August 2014.

The investigation called Project Yellowbird led to the recovery of dozens of vehicles and stolen items following a series of search warrants executed on Aug. 28.

Police estimate that at least $5 million in stolen goods were seized.

Nine people currently face up to 150 charges related to the break-and-enters that targeted homes in upscale Toronto neighbourhoods.

Police say the property not claimed will be held onto until the rightful owner comes forward.
