TORONTO – Icy road conditions resulted in a number of vehicle collisions across the Greater Toronto Area overnight and into early Tuesday morning.
At least half a dozen crashes occurred along Highway 401, however no serious injuries were reported.

The Toronto bound QEW at Bowen Road near Fort Erie had to be closed for a period of time due to the slippery roads. It has since been reopened.
Ontario Provincial Police have issued a warning to drivers to remain vigilant on the roads and drive according to the changing weather conditions.

There are a number of snow squall warnings and watches in effect for various regions across southern Ontario.
Environment Canada warns there could be persistent snow squalls throughout the day with heavy snow and blowing snow.
