Disaster Relief Program in Lethbridge

The flooding that southern Alberta has seen the past two summers has been unforgettable and costly for both the provincial government and Alberta residents.  Late last month, the government announced another $30.7 Million for the Disaster Recovery Program to help residents, small business owners, agricultural producers and municipalities recover their uninsurable losses.  Monday, officials from the DRP arrived in Lethbridge to help in that process.

Using photo ID, a letter from their insurance company and photographs or documentation of damages, residents are being offered help in the application process at City Hall.

According to Lethbridge County Emergency Services Coordinator Darryl Beaton, “This is an opportunity to recover.  Floods are a hit to the pocketbook, and the help from the D.R.P. is for anyone that was impacted by the June 16-23rd flood.”
