WINNIPEG – Manitobans will need time to put on an extra layer of clothing, scrape and defrost windows, and deal with a slower commute as the province enters its first full week of winter commuting.

City and rural roads face winter driving conditions, with many at least partially snow-covered and slippery. The Manitoba road report showed snow on highways east and north of Winnipeg.

Marine warnings are in effect for Lake Winnipeg, Lake Manitoba, Lake Winnipegosis and Lake of the Woods on Monday morning, with wind forecast to reach about 45 kilometres per hour. Details of the warnings can be found on the Environment Canada website.

The Winnipeg forecast is for mainly cloudy conditions with a 30 per cent chance of snow and a high of -9 C. Northwest winds will be 30 kilometre per hour gusting to 50 km/h, so blowing snow might affect visibility.
