Harper released from hospital

WINNIPEG – A 16-year-old girl who was brutally beaten, sexually assaulted, and left for dead on the banks of the Assiniboine River last week has been released from hospital.

Relative and Manitoba Keewatinowi Okimakanak Chief David Harper, says Rinelle Harper was discharged late Friday afternoon.

Harper survived a brutal assault after she was confronted by two men around midnight November 7.

Justin James Hudson, 20, and a 17 year-old who cannot be named, have been charged with attempted murder and aggravated sexual assault, as well as assault with a weapon.
