Surrey Fire Department rescues man who fell down bank near railway

Rail tracks in South Surrey have been closed while rescuers work in the area, tending to a man who fell down a bank.

A man was rescued from Surrey’s Ocean Park area after falling down a steep bank earlier this afternoon.

According to Brian Woznikoski with the Surrey Fire Deparment, they were called around 3:45 pm to an area near 128th St. and 13th Avenue.

They found a man who had fallen down a steep bank. He is conscious, but is complaining of back pain.

The rail tracks 40 feet below the man were closed while rescuers worked in the area.

The man was taken to hospital with serious back injuries.
