Fire forces evacuation of southwest Calgary apartment building

Fire broke out Friday afternoon in an apartment building in the city’s southwest, forcing the evacuation of all 16 suites.

Fire crews were called out to 709 – 14 Avenue S.W. at around 3:30 p.m.

The building was evacuated and more than two dozen tenants were taken to nearby Lougheed House for shelter from the cold.

No one was injured.
