Friday November 14th on The Morning News

At 6:45 we’ll meet two men who will be featured in the new season of History Channel’s top new series of the year “The Curse of Oak Island”.  Long-time Oak Island resident Dave Blackenship and local historian Charles Barkhouse will drop by to talk about the new season of the show set to premiere on Sunday night.

‘Tis the season to call a cab after a night of celebration.   That’s the message the NSLC wants to spread with the Cabaoke – a karaoke lounge on wheels.   Join us at 7:15 for a chat about this season’s new responsible drinking campaign – from inside the cab!

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

At 7:45 we’ll meet a man who wears many hats, and sunglasses for that matter! Toronto based musician Shawn Brady is in town promoting his new album “Broken Traffic Lights.” In addition to his solo gig,  Brady is an accomplished marathon runner, a physiotherapist, and the front man to the world’s biggest U2 tribute band “Elevation.” In other words….he’s as close to Bono as we can get! We’ll take it. Brady will even play us a song off his new record tomorrow.

We’ll meet two first-time filmmakers who are looking for your votes! Producer Erin Poirier and writer/director Elizabeth Lively both from Lower Sackville, are hoping to travel to Los Angeles in the new year. They are one of seven films nominated for a prestigious Taste Award. It’s a viewer’s choice award – so if they get the votes – they could be off to Hollywood in January to accept. We’ll tell you how you can vote Friday at 8:15!

And we’ll round out the week with Stephanie Beaumont of Sea and be Scene at 8:45. Stephanie will give us the dish on all the happenings in the biz both in The Maritimes and from Maritimers making waves in Hollywood.
