CALGARY – RCMP have laid charges against the driver of a semi-trailer following a crash on the Trans-Canada Highway on Wednesday.
Police say the driver lost control of his semi-trailer which fell over, blocking both eastbound lanes of Highway 1 about three kilometers east of Lake Louise.
Passenger traffic was rerouted onto Highway 1A, but commercial vehicles had to wait until the crash was cleared to proceed.
RCMP have charged Sarabjit Kalkat of B.C. with failing to ascertain sufficient space for movement.
No injuries were reported.
