CALGARY – Some tense moments for students at SAIT on Wednesday after it was put on lockdown following reports of possible gunshots.
Police were called to the school just after 6 p.m. after a school employee reported hearing several loud bangs.

It took officers about an hour to clear the scene and determine that no firearms were used.
Police said they were looking into the possibility that the noise may have been connected with a WWI production at the nearby Jubilee Auditorium. The theatre group had been given permission to use blanks in the performance.
Investigators are still looking into where the noise originated.
