A relative has set up a fundraising page for the Friesen family on the crowdfunding website ‘GoFundMe’.

By late Wednesday afternoon it had raised $2,250 for the family to help cover funeral expenses.

A statement on the site posted by a relative in Australia reads:

My uncle was killed in a tragic accident near Rocky Mountain House, Alberta. The accident took the life of a good friend of his, as well as another man in the other car. My aunt’s life has been rocked significantly in the last 10 years. They suffered the loss of their eldest daughter in 2005 and now my aunt has lost the love of her life.’
