Police in Shawnigan Lake are looking for an alleged hit-and-run driver after a crash on the Malahat Highway left one person injured.
It happened Monday morning when Shawnigan Lake RCMP were called to a single vehicle rollover on the highway.
A small truck entered the highway and collided with a southbound SUV, causing the SUV to veer across the two northbound lanes of traffic and roll down an embankment.
Paramedics had to extricate the lone occupant of the SUV, who was taken to hospital with undetermined injuries.
The driver of the small truck did not remain on scene.
The truck is described as a small pickup truck, painted a dark grey matte colour with after-market rims.
The vehicle will have likely sustained damage of the front passenger side.
The male driver is Caucasian, approximately 40 years of age with a moustache.
