ELMSDALE, N.S. – A man is dead after a tractor-trailer crashed into a power pole northeast of Halifax.
It happened around 6 a.m. on Monday on Highway 2 in Elmsdale, just north of Highway 214.

The 56-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said he was from nearby Carroll’s Corner, but his name has not been released.
They said the truck was not hauling a trailer at the time of the crash.
