Tuesday on The Morning News we’ll help to get you ready for Remembrance Day 2014. Reporter Marieke Walsh will be live from the War Memorial at Grand Parade Square in Halifax with details about what people can expect at this year’s gathering. She’ll also speak live with a young member of the forces about the future of the military here in Canada.
At 6:45 we’ll catch up with Halifax’s Kazan Theatre Co-op. So far this fall, they’ve said goodbye to a dear friend while shooting a documentary, created a brand new theatre space — and prepared for a brand new play: Heaven Above/Heaven Below.
They fought. They Died. We must never forget. That is the theme to the book “Halifax WWII Heroes Remembered” by Linda Gray-LeBlanc. The local author will join us tomorrow at 7:15 to tell us more about why she feels these stories need to be shared now more than ever.
While it’s possible to live completely debt-free, most of us don’t. Very few people earn enough money to pay cash for life’s most important purchases. At 7:45 our money sense expert Leanne Salyzyn will drop by with some advice on the wise use of debt and how it can help us achieve our goals and dreams.
The cultural ties of the Acadians of Nova Scotia and the Cajuns of Louisiana will be served up in gourmet style this week as part of Devour Food Film Festival. At 8:15 we’ll talk with Chef Jason Lynch of Le Caveau. He’ll be teaming up with Chef Stephen Stry-Jewski of New Orleans to create a lunch linking the two communities & their cuisine.
And at 8:45 we’ll welcome The Local Traveler Gillian Wesley to give us more information on places we can go to reflect and pay tribute around our region on Remembrance Day.
