KELOWNA — Kelowna firefighters were called into action Sunday afternoon after a fruit pickers shed on Spiers Road went up in flames. Thick smoke could be seen for kilometers.

The fire spread to some nearby trees but was extinguished before spreading any farther.
No one was injured in the fire, but crews weren’t able to confirm if anyone was living in the shed.
Spiers Road was blocked off for about an hour while crews fought the flames. The cause is still under investigation.
