Okanagan:  Record Highs on Thursday… Sun and Cloud for Friday

Weather update: Thursday November 6th 4:30pm

As of 4:15pm, we had a few record highs broken today:

Kelowna: 15.8C
Old record 15.0 in 1954

Osoyoos: 16.0C
Old record 15.3 in 2006

Vernon: 14.5C
Old record 15.3 in 2006

Penticton matched a record from 2006 at 14.9C.

Summerland peaked at 15.5C today, and was close to breaking its previous record of 16.1 in 1954.

We didn’t see any significantly close results in the Shuswap, Columbia or Arrow Lakes regions, and unfortunately we do not have access to any records in the Boundary region.

Now to the forecast… On Friday and Saturday we will be in between weather systems and sunshine is expected.

With calm winds and a cool start on Saturday morning, there will be the potential for morning fog but there is hope for clearing by the afternoon.

The next system will arrive late Saturday evening bringing more cloud and the chance of showers.

A cooler airmass will be over us next week bringing us back down to seasonal temperatures and many areas will see overnight temps below freezing after the weekend.

Friday’s Highs: 8C to 14C
