Thanks in large part to the work of Maria Osende and her flamenco company, Spanish dance and culture is very much alive on the Halifax arts scene.   At 6:45 we’ll learn about some special surprises planned for the 10th anniversary gala this Saturday.

We’ll get details about a weekend concert that will warm hearts and souls. At 7:15 Thomas Majcan – also known as ‘Big Daddy’, will drop by to tell us about his show this Saturday night at the Mic Mac Amateur Aquatic Club. He’s looking for people to bring along coat donations for Moms and kids in the community. It promises to be a heart-warming talk!

At 7:45 Paul Brothers finally gets to say “I’m with the band!” Paul visited Stadacona Band practice this week ahead of their big show “Til We Meet Again’ this weekend at Spatz Theatre. The show is a fundraiser for the Camp Hill Veterans’ Memorial Garden. Tune in to see how Paul fared on the bass drum.

At 7:50 we’ll meet a Halifax photographer who served in the UK’s Royal Air Force for 23 years.  Nigel Beck’s first solo show opens this week at The Craig Gallery in Dartmouth.  He shares his story with us at the red table.

We’re putting the wraps on Nova Scotia Music Week with a killer live performance. Disco-punk band “Like a Motorcyle” joins us for a rare live performance as they ramp up for a big weekend in Truro. Going out with a bang- Friday at 8:45!
