Police hunt for suspect after van crashes into home

CALGARY – Police are searching for a suspect after a break-and-enter in the city’s northeast on Thursday morning.

It happened at Renfrew Auto Service in the 1200 block of Edmonton Trail N.E. just before 6 a.m.

Afterward, the suspect sped off in a van, hitting another vehicle and then veering into a house in the 300 block of 11th Avenue N.E.

No one was injured in the crashes, but police say the suspect raced off on foot and hasn’t been located.

He’s described as about 5’10” tall with a medium build and light coloured hair. He was wearing a grey hoodie and dark pants.

The Calgary Fire Department says the home that was hit suffered minor damage to the exterior but no structural damage.
