RCMP investigate deadly eastern Alberta crash

EDMONTON – One person died in a two-vehicle collision east of Edmonton Wednesday morning.

Vermillion RCMP said a pickup truck was travelling west on Highway 16 when it lost control and rolled about 160 kilometres east of Edmonton. The truck was then hit by a semi truck that was traveling east.

The male driver in the pickup died from his injuries. He was the only person in the vehicle.

Police said driver of the semi is “okay”.

RCMP are investigating the cause of the crash but believe road conditions were a factor.

The identity of the victim has not been released.
