RCMP is hoping the public can help identify the people responsible for two different hit and run accidents that happened in Langley in October.

The first accident happened in Walnut Grove on Oct. 25 at about 6:45 p.m. Police were called to the scene at the intersection of 88 Avenue and 202 Street when two teen girls, who were crossing 88 Avenue southbound in the crosswalk, were struck by a newer model white SUV or van making a left turn onto 202 Street.

The two girls were sideswiped and knocked to the ground. Both were treated at the scene and released.

On Oct. 29, police went to the 20200-block of 32nd Avenue at 8:20 p.m. after it was reported a young girl’s ankle had been run over by a vehicle.

This hit and run also involved two teen girls. The pair was walking eastbound on the south shoulder of 32nd Avenue when the suspect vehicle drove past and stopped a short distance away. The truck then began to back up onto the shoulder and ran over one of the teen’s ankles. After the girl started screaming, the truck fled eastbound.

Police describe the vehicle as a white Dodge or Ford pickup truck. It was clean, with a lift kid, mud tires and bush lights on top of the cab. The two people in the truck are described as Caucasian males in their 20s.

The young girl was injured and needed surgery. She is now recovering.

Anyone with information regarding these two accidents is asked to call Langley RCMP.
