MONTREAL — It’s official!
Parti Québécois MNA Pierre Karl Péladeau and his longtime girlfriend Julie Snyder are finally tying the knot!
Snyder, a well-known Quebec television personality, made the announcement during a recent episode of “Le Banquier” — Quebec’s version of the game show “Deal or No Deal.”
Snyder flashed her engagement ring during an interview Tuesday on the show “Le Quebec Matin” on the French all-news channel LCN.
Snyder told the hosts that her “rock” came from a jewellery store in St-Jerome, the riding in which Péladeau was elected.
The couple have been together since 2001. They have two children together, Thomas born in 2005 and Romy born in 2009.
Péladeau also has another daughter from a previous relationship.
Earlier this year, Snyder and Péladeau announced that they had split but they reconciled a few months later and are attending couples’ counselling.
Péladeau has been the object of debate recently in the National Assembly over his controlling interest in Quebecor Media.
Recent polls show that Péladeau would be the front runner if he were to toss his name in the ring for the PQ leadership. Péladeau has yet to file his papers.
