REGINA – The Regina Police have charged one person after a vehicle was found abandoned in Wascana Lake in early May.
Police were called to Wascana Marine Road May 7th about a vehicle in the lake. Reporters – and police – spent the day at the lake, concerned the car had been possibly stolen, there might be someone trapped inside, or there was some other nefarious reason the vehicle had been ditched in the lake. Police finally pulled the car out of the water and confirmed that no one was inside.
Investigators followed up with the registered owner of the car and finally charged that owner with three offences, including disobeying a stop sign, driving too fast, and failing to report an accident.
