Crews douse fire at Winnipeg home twice in one night

WINNIPEG – Firefighters had to return to a Crescentwood home early Tuesday when a blaze rekindled in a house that first caught fire late Monday.

Emergency crews were first called to the two-storey home at 345 Waverley St. on Monday night.

The residents got out safely and firefighters believed they had the fire out.

Crews were called back to the house at 5 a.m. to fight flames that at one point could be seen shooting out of the attic and side walls.

Damage to the home is estimated at $100,000.
