Woman who killed two people driving drunk sentenced

A Calgary woman who killed two people while driving drunk will spend the next four-and-a-half years in prison.

Amie Nottebrock is also prohibited from driving for five years.

In January 2012, Nottebrock was at the wheel when she ran a red light at Shagannapi Trail and Country Hills Blvd. Her vehicle hit another car, killing her passenger, Danielle Russell.

Arsh Brar, the driver of the other vehicle, also died from his injuries.

She blew three times over the legal limit, and last May was convicted of criminal negligence causing death and impaired driving.

The crown asked for up to six years in prison, while the defence wanted closer to four years.
