WINNIPEG – The death of Travis Sukkau, 19, whose body was found dead in Pembina Valley Provincial Park on Monday, was non-criminal in nature, Manitoba RCMP said in a short news release Friday.

Sukkau, of Winkler, Man., was reported missing Oct. 23. He’d gone to the park to take photos and hadn’t returned, his family said.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

They created the “Find Travis” Facebook page in an effort to find him and posted Thursday that his death was accidental.

“We the family, are mourning the death of Travis. There was no foul play, it was not self-inflicted, just a tragic accident,” they wrote.

RCMP said no further updates will be provided.
