The ultimate Transformer

LETHBRIDGE- Shopping for Halloween costumes can be costly, especially if you’re trying to find one that no one else will have.  So, what better way to be unique than by creating your very own?

Five-year-old Laken Cesar and his dad did just that, and it might be in the running for the best Halloween costume… ever.  Using household items, the duo whipped up, the ultimate Optimus Prime Transformer costume.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

“We used paper plates, paper rolls, cardboard, spray paint and duct tape,” said Laken.

It took about 10 hours to craft the costume. In just seconds Laken can go from a Transformer, to a semi truck.

“My friends think it’s awesome,” adds Laken. “My favorite part was building it with my dad.”

The detailed truck has everything from miniature paper cup roof lights, to LED headlights and even flame pinstripes. The whole ensemble cost about $60 dollars. The only thing they had to buy, was the body suit.

Even though Halloween is nearly over, Laken has no intentions of stripping off his Autobot until he absolutely has to.

“I’m going to wear it until it doesn’t fit anymore.”
