REGINA – A suspicious looking package found at Government House in Regina turned out to be a harmless Mexican party favour.

RCMP who went to investigate say the item found outside the main doors was an empty pinata.

Mounties turned over the pinata to Regina police to determine who placed it there and why.

Pinatas are usually a decorated figure of an animal that contains toys and candy that is suspended from a height and broken open by blindfolded children as part of a celebration.
