TTC bus filmed running red light on Lake Shore Blvd.

TORONTO – The TTC has taken “appropriate disciplinary action” against a TTC bus driver who was recently filmed blatantly running a red light in Toronto.

The video, posted to YouTube on October 21, shows a bus travelling westbound on Lake Shore Boulevard West near Superior Avenue.

The video is filmed from a car’s dashboard camera. The driver stops on the west side of the intersection with the bus coming towards them.

As people are walking south across the intersection the 501L Long Branch bus drives through the intersection, only slowing down when a number of drivers begin to honk their car horns.

TTC spokesperson Brad Ross said the public transit agency found out about the video on the same day and immediately began an investigation.

“We have high expectations for safety and cooperation,” he said in an interview Thursday. “This is clearly an obvious and preventable violation of the Highway Traffic Act and as a result we did take action following an appropriate investigation.”
