Vancouver Police are hoping someone recognizes surveillance photos of an arson suspect.

Police say that on October 10, a man was seen setting fire to the front door of a house on Commercial Drive near East 38th Avenue before running away.

The resident, a 68-year-old man, managed to escape from the rear of the home. He was taken to hospital and treated for smoke inhalation. Due to the incident, the resident has since had to relocate.

The blaze caused superficial damage to the front of the home. Police believe that an accelerant was used to help start the fire.
