Residents of Calgary have placed flowers, candles and notes at Mewata Armoury in honour of the soldier killed in Ottawa Wednesday.
Calgarians have been stopping by to pay their respects to Cpl. Nathan Cirillo who was shot at the National War Memorial.
Meanwhile, Canadian soldiers have been cautioned not to wear their military uniforms to and from work.
According to Major Graham Longhurst with 41 Canadian Brigade group, the direction its received is not to have members linger in uniform in public places.
Security has also been heightened at some facilities but is done on a case by case basis.
Some government buildings have tightened security measures, including City Hall in Calgary.
A makeshift memorial has been set up at Mewata Armoury and Calgarians continued to stop by to pay their respects Thursday.
So far Remembrance Day plans have not been changed in Calgary in light of the Ottawa shooting but some considerations are being made.
