TORONTO – Saks Fifth Avenue, which caters to a clientele with a taste for the finer things in life, is partnering with upscale food merchant Pusateri’s in its soon-to-be opened Canadian stores.

The luxury retailer says Pusateri’s will be the operator of Saks food halls, which will include a variety of specialized sit-down food options and gourmet food products.

Pusateri’s will be featured in the first two Canadian locations of Saks — in the Toronto Eaton Centre and Sherway Gardens. Both are slated to launch in spring 2016.

“With their high standard of quality and exceptional selection of fine foods, Pusateri’s will help to deliver an elevated customer experience synonymous with the Saks Fifth Avenue brand,” said Richard Baker, chief executive of Saks parent company, Hudson’s Bay (TSX:HBC).

HBC, which also owns Home Outfitters and Lord & Taylor, will eventually bring a total of seven Saks Fifth Avenue stores and as many as 25 Saks Off Fifth stores to Canada.
