The car’s driver, a Kelowna woman in her thirties, was killed in the accident. The passenger, a Vernon woman also in her thirties, was left with serious internal injuries. They both worked at VJH and were on their break when the crash occurred.

Police allege the 37-year-old Vernon woman who was driving the van was under the influence of alcohol.

She is in custody and RCMP are recommending charges of impaired driving causing death and impaired driving causing bodily harm.
