LONDON – London-based Canadian label Erdem could score a hat trick at the upcoming British Fashion Awards.

Award-winning Montreal-born designer Erdem Moralioglu has earned his third consecutive nomination at the annual awards ceremony organized by the British Fashion Council.

He is up for womenswear designer of the year honours alongside Christopher Kane and J.W. Anderson.

The award recognizes a leading British ready-to-wear designer who has helped to enhance women’s fashion in the past year.

Moralioglu won the Red Carpet Award at the ceremony last year, which recognizes a British designer who is creating global awareness of their designs in the media.

He moved to New York after graduation to work in the design studios of fashion icon Diane von Furstenberg before relocating to the U.K. to launch his eponymous label in 2005, known for its modern, feminine designs and vibrant, custom-designed prints.

Moralioglu has established a star-studded fashion following with the Duchess of Cambridge and Oscar winners Anne Hathaway and Gwyneth Paltrow among those who have worn his designs.

Winners of the British Fashion Awards will be announced at the London Coliseum on Dec. 1.
