CALGARY – Police have taken one man into custody following an eight-hour standoff at a southeast restaurant on Monday.
Officers were called to the 9900 block of Fairmount Drive S.E. around 7:30 p.m. over reports of a man with a gun.

The suspect stayed inside Tops Pizza and Steakhouse for hours, allegedly making threats.
Police eventually sent in the canine unit and tactical team just before 4 a.m. on Tuesday.
The suspect was taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries, including dog bites and glass cuts.
