Hundreds line up in hopes of being houseguests on popular reality TV show

The line of applicants for Big Brother Canada outside of Ranchman's Sunday .

The line up stretched around the corner at Ranchman’s Sunday morning, bustling with hopeful future contestants of the show Big Brother Canada.

Already a wildly popular show in the United States, the Canadian version pits 15 people against one another in a house monitored by television cameras 24/7. Every week someone is evicted from the home, the last houseguest standing wins a prize of $100,000.

Every person that showed up to Ranchman’s Sunday was guaranteed an interview with producers. Eventually 15 people will be chosen for the show from across the country.

Show producer Sue Brophey encouraged applicants to simply be themselves.

“We are looking for people to show us their personality,” she explains. “ Show us they’re a little devious…are they personable? So we are looking for those things.”
