Manitoba man arrested for luring minors, sexual assault, abduction

WINNIPEG – A 20-year-old from Russell, Man., is accused of using the Internet to lure two girls for sexual purposes.

Blake David Dunn was first arrested by Russell RCMP on Oct. 4 and charged with luring minors over the Internet for sexual purposes, sexual interference, sexual assault and abduction of a person under 16. He was released on strict conditions pending a Nov. 26 court date in Russell, RCMP said in a news release.

Dunn was arrested again, this time by Virden RCMP, on Oct. 9 and charged with luring minors over the Internet for child pornography and possession of child pornography. He was released and is to appear in a Virden courtroom on Oct. 31.

Dunn is alleged to have used social networking to lure the girls.

RCMP are still investigating and urge anyone who has been or who knows someone who has been a victim of a similar incident to call the RCMP or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Manitoba RCMP also issued a reminder to be careful using social networks and advised parents to educate their children about potential online dangers and monitor their Internet activity.
