Report of attempted luring incident is false, say Nanaimo RCMP

An investigation by Nanaimo RCMP has determined that a report of two males attempting to lure a young boy into a van are false.

Police received a report Friday that the boy was walking along Hammond Bay Road near Entwhistle Drive when he was approached by two men who tried to convince him to get inside their green GMC Safari van.

Officers searched for the van, conducted interviews, and prepared a sketch of the suspects.

Police say the incident is now being treated as a family issue.
