RCMP search for man responsible for taxi assault

RCMP search for man responsible for punching taxi passenger and female driver. RCMP

RED DEER – RCMP are asking for the public’s help in locating a man who attacked a taxi driver and a passenger.

On Saturday around 2:30 A.M. two men leaving the Lotus nightclub decided to share a taxi with another man, who they did not know.

The two friends sat in the back and the additional passenger took the front seat, next to the driver.

As they approached their destination at the Mustang Acres mobile home park in the north end of Red Deer, Mounties say one of the men in the back became increasingly aggressive and belligerent.

When the taxi driver pulled over and ordered the man out of the vehicle, he allegedly punched the passenger in the front seat in the back of the head.

RCMP say he then exited the taxi, walked around the vehicle and punched the female taxi driver in the jaw.
