KELOWNA — RCMP say there’s no connection following the discovery of two large grow ops in Kelowna, despite the fact they were discovered next door to each other.

Acting on a tip, police raided a home on Kloppenburg Road in the Black Mountain area on September 26 where they seized more than 470 pot plants.

Police don’t say why, but say their attention was drawn to a neighbouring home where they suspected the occupants were also growing dope.

Police raided the home on October 7 and found a sophisticated marijuana grow in the basement containing 721 plants.

A 32-year-old Summerland woman was arrested on scene.

As for the first grow op, the landlord says he had no idea the home was being used as a grow op.

Despite being next door to each other, police say the two grow-ops are not related.

“At this time it is not believed that the two houses are connected. It is likely they were aware of each others existence and possibly shared information,” says Cst. Jesse O’Donaghey.
