Vancouver Police are asking witnesses of a suspicious fire this morning to come forward and speak to the authorities.
The blaze broke out around 4 a.m. at a home near Commercial Dr. and East 38th Avenue.
One man was in the home at the time and was able to get out on his own.
He was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation and was taken to hospital as a precaution, according to authorities.
20 firefighters worked to control the fire at its height.
The home suffered smoke, water and fire damage.
Authorities confirm the fire was an arson. They have located video from the scene and are working to identify a suspect. Police ask anyone who may have witnessed the arson to contact the Vancouver Police Arson Unit at (604) 717-2962.
